today i missed the chance to turn in a whole unit of artwork in my art class today. what should i do?
I was sick and this was our final unit. our instructor said no exceptions no changes. ive been struggling with really serious depression and way litterally having trouble going through the day. i wasnt able to make it to class because i felt so bad, but i forgot today was the last day to turn in our whole unit! i did all the work and now im going to miss a very big portion of my grade! this is also the end of the quarter. what should i do?
All colleges have a disability department. Have your doctor make a note that you are depressed and ill and they can work with you to make arrangements with your teacher. Teachers really DO have to make exceptions for people with disabilities as some deadlines or rules are impossible for disabled people.
For example, one of my profs has a 2 absences policy. On absence #3 you fail. Because of my recorded disability she can't hold me to that rule. I have to do a little extra work to make up for extra classes I missed, but it usually is something easy like a 3 page book report or making up tests in the disability office.
