Is it racist to have cookie jars and figurines in someone's home?

My grandma owns this, and one of my great aunts sold these figures a long time ago when she had an antique shop down in Florida. All the black people in town protested against my great aunt having those figures in her shop because they thought it was racist. To me the cookie jar looks like an old colonial black lady, not necessarily a slave.
By the way, I'm not trying to offend anybody or start controversy. I'm just looking for other peoples point of view.
well considering that most colonial african woman were slaves i can see where it could be taken offense to but i don't think its racist
