How can I tell my MIL these toys are highly innapropriate?
Yesterday went to visit MIL - baby's grandma. She gave my 8-month-old daughter two mechanical wind-up cars, a styrofoam doll, a china clown doll (she said it is a collector's item), a string of Mardi Gras beads, and a few paper books to play with. What the heck? These are not toys you give to a baby!
Hw can I make her see reason? I did try to gently point out the flaws with each one, but her response was "Well, I am not going to leave her alone with them!" and proceeded to try to tell the baby "not to put in the mouth." LOL - if that works, I am a monkey's uncle!
I also told my husband this morning that it bothered me.
What else can I do in this situation?
Smile and say thank you, and tell her the baby can't play with those for a few years.
