How do you like my Christmas poem?

Sometimes it's the thought that counts
Not the other way around
People miss the message
They think a fat man's in town

Leaving gifts under the tree
Shoving the snow
Writing litters to Santa Clause
Stepping under the mistletoe

The Christians praying behind the townspeople
Spreading joy on the gift from above
The others are opening their presents
While the carolers are singing with love

Children roasting chestnusts on an open fire
Parents stretching the lie farther
Families are enjoying their feast
While Christmas time is getting harder

Santa Clause has been shot in the head
The presents melt on top of each other
The mistletoe is gone
The people shriek from one another

Christmas ain't a fun holiday
When you realize it's one big joke
People think gifts, Santa, and more
But then they find their wallet broke

Second stanza, line 3, I think you meant to say "writing letters." Generally, jolly old Nick is called "Santa Claus." The words "Santa Clause" for the Tim Allen movie form a pun that has apparently been lost on most people.

Spelling issues aside, the poem still needs a lot more work. Try to make each line have the same number of syllables and the same stress pattern in each line. All your rhymes are wasted if they don't occur in an at least vaguely musical pattern.

As for the sentiment of the poem, I don't agree with it but I would be more inclined to consider it if it was presented in a more technically polished way.
