Identify another children's book: Features a tiny, magic, toy dog.?
It was probably around 1982 when I read this book... which was a "chapter book" with pictures. There was a young girl, who either lived with or was visiting an older woman, and in the woman's glass case, there was a little porcelain dog with a rhinestone collar, which came to life. I think it did magic tricks, but maybe it just did backflips, and gave good advice. Any ideas?
This is "No Flying in the House" by Betty Brock. The dog's name is Gloria, and she is the guardian of a little girl named Annabel Tippins. The animal in the glass display case that came to life was actually a wicked white cat who told Annabel that if she could kiss her elbow, she was a fairy. This was one of my favorite books, too!
