What are the causes of a rabbit / bunny to go blind?
My rabbit is now 11 years old and has been a great friend. But I do not think he can see. I wondered what causes a rabbit to go .. blind
I also have a rabbit who became blind ... The veterinarian said he has developed cataracts - just one of the things older. They started small and it was just hard to see in daylight, but they have gradually gotten bigger and it is now almost completely blind. Curiously ... does not seem to bother him at all! I do sometimes walk in their room (it is stuck with Dottie Ann) and have to say that he is looking at the wall. But he usually lifts just one ear, as if to say: "But I want to look on the wall! "Since he has always lived in this room and seems to move around very well without bumping against something, I have not moved or rearranged nothing. He has no problem to know where the litter box, a bowl of water, or food dishes. And he plays more actively with toys. While it is usually their trip over them, but it will sit and mix them around long enough, as has always used. I do not know if the cataract surgery can be done on rabbits, but it seems to be content and it does not seem to bother him at all, I did not pursue the idea.
