Chinese friends? what makes a wonderful country as China not to be colored with yellow colour on this map?
My Chinese friends, why is China be colored with dark blue and not yellow color on this map, same as Pakistan, India, Egypt, Algeria and Ghana?

This map is based on the level of poverty defined by the individual countries themselves. This has an effect of bringing down the level of poverty in each country.
In fact UN bodies and National Governments differ on the definition of poverty. Some nations bring down the definition of poverty at $1 per day per person, and any person earning that money will not be considered poor, even though UN bodies may have specified higher amount of earnings.
Perhaps that's the reson, the percentage of poor in China seem to be much less than in USA.
Also, even if we take the percentage and convert it in numbers, the number of poors in China will be much more higher than in USA.
