How should an emotionally broken person specially a young lady be consoled ?
Being an experienced person I was asked by one of my friends to console his young daughter whose 2-year old had developed Blood Cancer. The investigation results had broken the mother to pieces. I some how managed to do the needful. Still I would like to invite suggestions.
first, talk to the person about it. try to discover what she is feeling. if you cant persuade the prob, try an approach like "you remind me of the time when I was depressed." This may cause her to open up. provide emotional support. dont trivialize d situation or offer simplistic solutions like "things'll look better tomorrow." help her focus on actibities still enjoyed like - working in a garden etc.
Listen sympathetically, point out d realities of the situation and always offer hope.
